Roger Waters
Bass and Vocals
Roger Waters was born September 6, 1943 in Surrey, England. Roger was a schoolmate of Syd Barrett's for much of their young life. He is considered a cofounder of the band. In the early years he took a back seat to Syd, but once Syd left, he considered the band his.
He wrote all of the albums Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut. To him Gilmour seemed merely to be the voice of most of the songs, they only collaborated on a select few.
After the band split, Gilmour, Mason, and Wright were allowed to keep the name Pink Floyd. While Roger kept the rights to The Wall, Animals, and The Final Cut (along with the Pink Floyd Pigs)
Roger is still touring using The Wall and is still making new music, many consider his solo career a great success.
